Emails to Emily Dickinson: A Zine About Grocery Work During COVID-19 is a memoir by Amelia Glebocki, designed and illustrated by Danielle Mijo-Burch.

Stitched together from emails, texts, and other digital scraps from Glebocki’s life at the outbreak of COVID-19 (March to September 2020), the zine is a window into the “invisible lives” of grocery workers, framed through Glebocki’s experience working at a Michigan Kroger, writing back and forth to a friend reimagined as a “little proletarian ghost cat” named Emily Dickinson.

Interspersed with playful doodles, collages, typography, and visual Easter eggs, this “anti-capitalist picture book for adults” has caught the attention of esteemed creatives such as Kiese Laymon (award-winning author and 2022 McArthur “Genius Grant” fellow).
